D Y Patil Sports Academy, over the years, has emerged as a symbol of excellence amongst the sporting community in India. It hosts the biggest cricket stadium around Mumbai with a capacity of 50,000 people. It has been voted as the 6th best cricket stadium in the world by the British Architect’s Journal and has played host to the 2008 and 2010 Indian Premier League (IPL) finals. The stadium has also hosted the FIFA U17 World Cup, the first FIFA event of its kind in the country in 2017.
